Welcome

I have been modelling 1/76th for many years and hope you find my kits and wargaming interesting and an enjoyable surf!
Bear with me as i get my camera abilities better.

My kits are a mixture of plastic injection, resin and white metal. plenty of local Australian resin kits but also venerable Airfix and Matchbox models too....

Mainly European WW2 which first started out with US forces, then onto UK and then a smattering of Russian- but i realised i had to have someone to compete against..... so along came the Axis kits..

Click on the pictures, they expand and provide better detail.

Hope you enjoy and thanks for all the positive comments

Storming the beaches

finally got some time to battle
we set the table up to be US landings D Day

my competitor strangely had an over balance of Tigers...LOL
great game and it degenerated into a father vs son thing so much we stopped taking pictures

was a delightful way to spend an afternoon

  1. Nice looking battle. I have been preparing for years for an amphib operation, but just am not there yet. Very complex exercise to run.

I like the terrain set up as well, all and all it looked a great way to kill an afternoon.

  2. thanks Paul

its a lovely way to spend some time and lots of fun
he always loads up his side with tigers and heavy metal so i always get some off board help- naval gunnery and also i have 3 moves to get on shore free
we use the old airfix rules which i grew up with and they have no water moevemnt so we have scratch upped a few to use
its all very nice and good and as said a great way to connect

  3. That's an awesome game David, how well do the Airfix rules work for a game of this size?

  4. Hi Al

they are fine for large scale action and small- no problems at all
there is plenty not catered for in the rules- ie trying to blow a bunker up or how long does it take to drop a bridge from the Churchill arve or even what damage does the Petard mortar do when fired from the Arve.

but we just muck something up and push on.

we have used them so much that the book is falling apart and we know most of the fire tables and also movemnet rules in our heads......
also using 6 sided dice means easy quick rolling or a resolution if we dont have a rule-
"roll 5 or 6 and you can do it!!" LOL
